Learn About My Projects
SUITS is a nationwide student design challenge in which undergraduates and graduate students create user-interface solutions — especially augmented-reality (AR) displays and controls — for spacesuits and related systems.
The current challenge asks student teams to design next-generation spacesuit and lunar/planetary-surface interface technologies — including AR displays for helmets and controls for rovers or suit functions — to support future moon and Mars surface exploration by astronauts.
It is an ongoing project. I lead a sub-team to create AR interfaces for future spacesuits. Our role is to design and code a prototype interface that will allow astronauts to control their suit systems and receive important information while on extravehicular activities (EVAs).
